Photography is being abused in the modern world because the laws given do not restrict what they should. Usually when people have laws, they do not wish to break them; however, if they do not have laws then the rights will be stretched and abused. For instance, when a law states a person cannot skip down a hallway, they will stretch that rule out and run down the hallway. Although it can be debatable on why photography is being abused there is reason to believe it is, because there are not many laws; as a result, the only restrictions are not being able to take certain photos and sending them via phone, not being able to take pictures in public unless given permission, and photographing on private property. “As the flyer states, there are not very many legal restrictions on what can be photographed when in public view” (Krages 1). It is said that one of the only reasons people restrict photography is from the fear of society falling apart, much like any law is meant to do (Ernst 1). When given the information, someone may think that this is not the reason photography is being abused, but another person may think this is the one and only reason photography is being treated wrong.
